Friends & Fireflies
Labor day weekend was spent on animal crossing, some KAI certification readings and a trip to Taipei county for a fireflies trip. It was my 1st experience being a tourguide for a group of 9. New friends, jokes & laughter made out train rides shorter than it seemed. 1st stop was to a historical site when the Prince from Japan would be hosted when he visits the coal mines in the Jingtong area. We sat cross legged on the Japanese tatami, drank tea & had some snacks till it gets dark.

1st time at the Beach
There's finally a day of nice weather, warm, sunny with blue skies! It was time for a road trip to the North East Coastline of Taiwan. Poodle loves riding in the car, especially new cars ~:P and sitting on human cushioned seat, getting the best view as though she's the driver.
Stop checking out my butt as I head to the beach!
I never expected poodle to lay completely out on the wet beach, it was one cooling spot~

3D Monsters VS Aliens
After an afternoon of panda-mania, it was time for a foot break- Monsters vs Aliens in IMAX 3D! Since it was Vie Show premier, we got to take a picture with the 1-eyed blue mascot..whom I didn't know who it was! .. & a set of Monster Vs Alien stickers, bookmarks. We put on our humongous glasses, all ready for the 3D spectacular. My favorite character turned out to be BOB, the gluey 1 eyed monster! aha! Can't reveal too much about the movie, you have to experience it~~
It was a night out with mascots~ other than Bob the monster, it was the the Vie-show buddy~
Panda-mania
Eversince the Taiwanese president Ma was elected, 2 special guests from China, now resides in Taipei, drawing more than 7000 visitors per day. To avoid crowds, we waited patiently for months and took an opportunity to visit the Taipei Zoo! Yes, our special " black & white" guests "團團"Tuan tuan & "圓圓" Yuan yuan have immigrated to Taipei since Feb'09. A numbered ticket with a time to visit the pandas was given upon initial entry. We had to drop by visits to the Emu, giraffes, wallabys, elephants, monkeys....etc for almost 2 hours before our turn to stand in line for some panda sighting! It was panda booths everywhere: snacks, popcorn, drinks, and we had a Panda shaped choco-vanilla ice-cream during our wait. 3:10pm! was finally time for us to see the pandas! We hastily followed the line, got our cameras ready, and guess what? we only saw two sleeping pandas through the glass windows, while being shoved to continue walking and keep the line moving! Rule of thumb, Pandas sleep most of the time in order to digest the fibrous sugar canes, so, visit them in the morning~!
